Calculate the wagering attached to a bonus, a deposit-plus-bonus package or promotional free-spin winnings. The tool separates the counted requirement from the actual stakes needed at a chosen contribution rate, and can subtract progress already credited to the same promotion.
Enter the figures from the particular coupon rather than a general advertising headline. A 30× requirement is incomplete information until you know what it multiplies. A game’s contribution then determines how much of each eligible stake counts toward that target.
Wagering requirement calculator
Calculate a wagering requirement
Use one currency throughout. Dollar amounts below are formatted as AUD. Enter the basis and multiplier stated in the specific coupon.
Choose the right basis before entering a multiplier
The wagering basis is the amount to which the promotion applies its multiplier. It might be a bonus allocation, the qualifying deposit plus that allocation, or winnings generated by a set of promotional spins. These are different calculations even when the multiplier is identical.
Bonus only
Use the amount of bonus credit allocated under the offer. A $20 bonus at 30× produces a $600 counted target. The deposit is excluded from this particular calculation.
Deposit plus bonus
Add the qualifying deposit and allocated bonus before multiplying. A $20 deposit plus a $20 bonus at 30× gives a $1,200 counted target.
Free-spin winnings
Use the actual winnings where the rule applies to those winnings. A $10 return from promotional spins at 30× gives a $300 counted target.
Do not put a match percentage into the wagering-multiplier field. A 200% deposit match determines the allocation before wagering is considered. A 30× requirement determines the counted stakes applied to the stated basis. The two numbers describe different parts of the offer.
Similarly, the maximum advertised bonus is not necessarily the amount allocated to a smaller deposit. For a hypothetical 100% match capped at $100, a qualifying $20 deposit produces a $20 allocation. Entering $100 instead would calculate the requirement for a different bonus amount.
Use the deposit match guide to separate percentage and cap, and the free-spin wagering guide for requirements applied to spin winnings. If the coupon does not identify the basis, ask the casino before relying on a result.
Worked examples: the same multiplier can mean different totals
All examples here are hypothetical arithmetic illustrations, not terms assigned to a listed casino. Keep the currency consistent across the deposit, bonus, progress and stake fields. The tool formats dollar results as AUD; it does not convert currencies or account for exchange charges.
Example 1: $50 bonus at 30×
Choose bonus only, enter $50 as the bonus and 30 as the multiplier. With no progress and 100% contribution, the counted target and required stakes are both $1,500. This does not mean a $1,500 deposit is required or that the player will lose exactly $1,500.
The calculation is $50 × 30 = $1,500. If $200 of eligible progress has already been credited, $1,300 remains. At a constant permitted $1 stake and 100% contribution, that is 1,300 paid rounds in the calculator’s simplified model.
Example 2: $50 deposit plus $50 bonus at 30×
Choose deposit plus bonus and enter both $50 amounts. The basis becomes $100, producing a counted target of $3,000. The same 30× headline has produced twice the target of the bonus-only example because the basis is twice as large.
If the game contributes 50%, the required stakes become $6,000 before any credited progress. The contribution changes how much play counts; it does not change the original $3,000 counted target. Keep those two numbers separate when reading an account’s progress counter.
Example 3: $8 in free-spin winnings at 25×
Choose free-spin winnings and enter $8 with a multiplier of 25. At 100% contribution and no credited progress, the calculation is $8 × 25 = $200. The number of promotional spins is not used in that formula.
If the promotion instead states that wagering applies to an assigned bonus amount, use that stated basis. Do not substitute spin winnings simply because the offer includes spins. A mixed package can attach separate rules to a deposit match and its promotional spin component.
How game contribution changes the required stakes
Contribution measures the part of an eligible stake that advances the requirement. At 100%, a $1 eligible stake counts as $1. At 50%, it counts as $0.50. At 20%, it counts as $0.20. A remaining $300 counted requirement therefore needs $300, $600 or $1,500 in stakes respectively.
The formula is: remaining stakes = remaining counted wagering ÷ contribution as a decimal. For 50%, divide by 0.5, not 50. The calculator makes that conversion for you and rounds the resulting stake total upward to the next cent.
A 0% game cannot reduce a positive target. It may be excluded from the promotion or playable without contribution, depending on the terms. The tool rejects 0% rather than showing a misleading finite completion amount. Never assume that every pokie contributes fully or that all games in a category share one rate.
If you change games, the future contribution can change too. Use credited progress from the casino for play already completed, then calculate the remaining amount at the intended game’s applicable contribution. Applying a new rate retrospectively to all earlier stakes can produce an incorrect result.
Enter counted progress, not your current balance
The credited-progress field expects the amount already accepted toward the same requirement. For example, $200 of stakes at 50% contribution produces $100 of counted progress. Enter $100 in this field, not $200, if those are the figures the promotion recognises.
Balance is different. A player can have a $50 account balance and $100 of counted wagering, or a larger balance with little progress. The current balance alone cannot establish how much has been staked, which games counted or whether a requirement has been completed.
The calculator subtracts credited progress from the original counted target and stops the remaining amount at zero. If entered progress exceeds the calculated target, it flags the discrepancy. That could reflect a mistaken basis, an incorrect progress figure or a different rule in the actual promotion; it is not independent confirmation of completion.
For an account counter showing only a percentage, obtain the underlying target before converting it. In a hypothetical $600 counted target, 25% completion represents $150 credited and $450 remaining. Do not apply that percentage to the account balance.
What the optional paid-round estimate means
Enter a constant stake only if it is permitted by the offer. The tool divides the required remaining stakes by that amount and rounds upward to a whole round. With $500 remaining stakes and a $2 stake, the result is 250 rounds.
This is a counting aid, not a recommended session length. It assumes the same stake and contribution throughout, with enough balance to place every round. It does not account for changing stakes, excluded play, rounding inside a casino’s system or whether the account balance runs out.
Conditions the calculator cannot replace
A completed arithmetic target is only one part of a promotion. Read the specific coupon together with the general terms and establish which rule applies if they appear inconsistent. For example, Ozwin’s FAQ discusses claiming and playthrough, while Fair Go’s terms set out its broader conditions. Neither is a universal rulebook for other brands.
- Maximum bet: a mathematically convenient stake may still breach the promotion.
- Eligible games: a title may contribute differently, contribute nothing or be restricted.
- Expiry: counted progress does not remove a completion deadline.
- Bonus deduction: non-cashable credit may be removed when an eligible withdrawal is calculated.
- Promotional cashout cap: the amount paid from an offer can be capped separately from wagering.
- Account and payment checks: eligibility, verification and withdrawal methods remain separate conditions.
Our withdrawal limits guide distinguishes promotional caps from payment limits. The sticky versus non-sticky guide explains balance treatment, and bonus-code troubleshooting covers a rejected claim before play begins.
Turnover is not a loss prediction
Turnover adds the stakes placed, including money returned and then staked again. A $20 deposit can produce more than $20 in turnover, but there is no guarantee that the balance lasts long enough to meet any target. The full amount available for play can be lost.
This calculator deliberately does not estimate a “cost to clear” from RTP. A long-run average cannot promise the result of a short sequence or establish how much extra money a player would need. The RTP calculator explains theoretical-return arithmetic separately, while the volatility guide addresses the spread of outcomes.
For the mechanics behind a stake and a return, read how pokies work. A game displaying a prize does not necessarily mean that round produced a net profit, just as a growing wagering counter does not establish that the account is ahead.

Wagering calculator FAQs
What does a wagering calculator calculate?
It multiplies the amount specified in the promotion by its wagering multiplier, subtracts eligible progress already credited and adjusts the remaining requirement for the selected game contribution. It does not calculate a withdrawal or predict losses.
Should I choose bonus only or deposit plus bonus?
Choose the basis stated in the specific promotion. Bonus only uses the bonus allocation. Deposit plus bonus adds the qualifying deposit to that allocation before applying the multiplier. Do not infer the basis from the multiplier alone.
What amount should I enter for free spins?
When wagering applies to promotional spin winnings, enter the actual resulting winnings under that rule. Do not enter the number of spins or assume the combined face value of the spins is the correct basis.
What does 50% game contribution mean?
At 50% contribution, each eligible $1 staked credits $0.50 toward the wagering target. A remaining $300 counted requirement therefore needs $600 in eligible stakes at that contribution, assuming the same rate throughout.
Why will the calculator not accept 0% contribution?
A game contributing 0% makes no progress toward the requirement. No finite amount of play at that rate completes a positive remaining target, so the calculator asks for a contribution above zero.
Is the calculated turnover the amount I need to deposit?
No. Turnover is the sum of eligible stakes. Money returned by earlier rounds may be staked again, but returns are uncertain and the available balance may run out before the requirement is met.
What does eligible wagering already credited mean?
It means progress the casino has already counted toward the same requirement, after any contribution adjustment. Enter that counted amount rather than your total deposits, current balance or unadjusted stakes.
Does zero remaining wagering guarantee a withdrawal?
No. This tool only compares the figures entered. Eligibility, maximum bets, expiry, bonus deductions, cashout caps, verification and payment conditions can still affect a withdrawal. Confirm completion with the casino.
Does the optional round count tell me how long completion will take?
No. It divides remaining stakes by a fixed entered stake and rounds up. It assumes the stake is permitted and contribution stays constant; it does not predict balance survival, feature outcomes or time.
Can I use this calculator for a promotion with separate requirements?
Calculate each separate component using its own basis and multiplier. Do not merge free-spin winnings and a deposit bonus into one requirement unless the promotion explicitly treats them together.
